Music and the Church Choir

Music is at the heart of Frederick Street's worship. The Church Choir meets regularly for practice on Tuesday evenings at 8pm. The group brings together male and female voices of all ages. In the main, they perform in 4-part harmony anthems and other set choral pieces for festivals, services, weddings and other occasions, as well as leading the congregation in hymn singing each Sunday morning. The Choir takes an active part in the wider activities of the Church and has its own social programme of events and outings throughout the year. The group is affiliated to the URC Musicians' Guild. This means some members take part in musical days both with the Leicestershire District and wider East Midlands province. If you're interested in joining the Church Choir (new recruits always welcome!), contact Derek Hunter (Choir Master) or Mrs E. Featonby (Choir Secretary) at the church or e-mail the webmaster via our Home Page. Needlework from Frederick URC
