Social Activities

Needlework from Frederick Street URCThe 3Cs is a ladies' group that meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm. The 3Cs stand for Coffee, Chat and Co-operation, which perhaps gives an indication of the warmth of fellowship in this group. The programme includes activities, speakers and demonstrations and it caters for a wide audience. You are warmly invited to drop in. Programmes are also available from the 3Cs secretary, Christine Henley, or at the church. To see the range of activities undertaken last year, read the annual report.

The Luncheon Club meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 12.30pm for a three course meal at a modest cost. Good fellowship is assured. Further meals are arranged at lunchtimes or evenings to celebrate specific occasions such as Harvest, Saints' Days, etc. All events are open to all members of the congregation and their friends, and provide an opportunity for those who live alone to share a meal and make new friends. The Social Committee co-ordinates a programme of varied events for all ages throughout the year. These events have recently included trips to Derbyshire, tenpin bowling, garden parties and Christmas concerts. Coffee mornings are also organised for the first Saturday in each month, 10am at the church.
